The consultant will harmonize, contextualize, and develop regional training modules for institutional and community actors in Mauritania, Mali, and Senegal. The role supports capacity building on integrated water resource management, climate resilience, conflict prevention related to natural resources, hydrodiplomacy, disaster risk reduction, gender-based violence prevention, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an inventory and analysis of existing training modules, guides, and supports produced by UNICEF, IOM, and partners.
  • Identify gaps, update needs, and opportunities for harmonization of existing resources.
  • Revise, harmonize, and adapt training modules to the realities of cross-border zones between Mauritania, Mali, and Senegal.
  • Develop new content for insufficiently covered topics, including hydrodiplomacy, in collaboration with technical partners.
  • Produce a regional training kit comprising harmonized modules, pedagogical supports, and evaluation tools.
  • Create a simplified trainer guide to enable UNICEF, IOM, and partners to deploy trainings effectively.
  • Ensure integration of cross-cutting dimensions such as gender, protection, prevention of gender-based violence, inclusion of youth, women, persons with disabilities, environment, and conflict sensitivity.
  • Facilitate participatory and collaborative approaches with stakeholders for content co-construction.
  • Organize technical validation meetings and incorporate recommendations.
  • Deliver final versions of all documents in modifiable and PDF formats.
  • Implement quality assurance mechanisms including regular follow-ups, progressive validation, and coherence checks.

Requirements

  • Consultancy contract for up to 11 months with an initial duration of 2.5 months.
  • Experience in harmonizing and developing training modules related to water resource management, climate resilience, conflict prevention, and related fields.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive inventory and analysis of existing training modules from UNICEF, IOM, and partners.
  • Experience in adapting training content to cross-border contexts and integrating cross-cutting themes such as gender, protection, inclusion, and conflict sensitivity.
  • Strong facilitation and methodological skills for participatory and collaborative content development.
  • Fluency in French; ability to incorporate recommendations for adaptation to local languages.
  • Experience working in Mauritania, Mali, and Senegal or similar regional contexts is desirable.
  • Ability to produce training kits including modules, pedagogical supports, evaluation tools, and simplified trainer guides.
  • Capacity to conduct technical validation meetings and incorporate feedback.
  • Commitment to quality assurance through regular follow-ups, progressive validation, and coherence control of deliverables.
