See your match score & applyThe Caseworker - Protection supports programmes assisting Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP) in Ireland, focusing on protection-focused casework including vulnerability assessments, needs identification, and referrals to support services. The role involves coordination with state accommodation centres and other stakeholders to ensure effective programme implementation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarise, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Support the Senior Protection Associate with the development and implementation of the Protection strategy of the programme through research and additional support as required.
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability screenings of BOTP’s prior to individualised casework.
- Utilise the Programme Standard Operating Procedures’ (SOP) to Support BOTP in state accommodation.
- Support in coordinating with assigned focal points at State Accommodation Centres as required.
- Maintain coordination with diverse organisational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Disseminate key and accurate information to BOTP and referring cases with identified vulnerabilities, as necessary.
- Provide translation and interpretation services, as necessary.
- Draft status reports, identify shortfalls, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions to address delivery gaps.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organise meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation (UN) agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Assist in monitoring work of Implementing Partners (IP) and report non-compliances to the supervisor.
- Perform such other relevant duties as maybe assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or, High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.
- Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organisation.
- Case management skills.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
- Working knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian is desirable.
