The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating specialized daily and ad hoc projects, supervising staff, providing advice and analytical studies, and representing INTERPOL in the relevant police area. The role involves managing workflows, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and acting as a central point of contact for the police area at stake.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and coordinate all daily and ad hoc tasks pertaining to the relevant area in compliance with organizational priorities and policies.
  • Establish planning and expected deliverables to meet decisions taken by hierarchy in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate missions and ad hoc tasks as approved by hierarchy.
  • Detect implementation issues and suggest refinements to planning and workflow.
  • Personally handle complex tasks requiring specialized expertise.
  • Supervise staff members assigned to the unit, providing daily guidance and monitoring quality and timeliness of work.
  • Identify training needs and assess staff objectively.
  • Propose workflow improvements to enhance unit outputs.
  • Monitor use of human and financial resources and report regularly to Director/budget holder.
  • Provide proactive guidance and analytical studies to support hierarchy decisions and area development.
  • Prepare written studies, status reports, and oral presentations for internal and external use.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the coordinated area to provide tailored operational service.
  • Serve as central point of contact inside and outside the Organization for the police area at stake.
  • Ensure efficient coordination and facilitate working relationships within the Organization and with external partners.
  • Maintain an international network of experts for continuous exchange on analytical outcomes and operational trends.
  • Represent the Organization at meetings, conferences, and training sessions as required.
  • Coordinate organization of conferences and working groups related to the area.
  • Act as senior staff member to replace Director ensuring smooth daily running of IBMTF in absence of Director.
  • Coordinate activities and planning with Director to avoid service disruption.
  • Perform any other duties related to the relevant area or IBMTF mandate as required by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Three to four years' education at a university or specialized higher education establishment.
  • Experienced police officer, or official able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience/training in the sector of police area/law enforcement agencies.
  • Five years' experience in the area in question and, where necessary, management experience.
  • Experience in project management is required.
  • Experience in staff supervision is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Proficiency in a second official language of the Organization (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be an additional asset.
  • Experience in working with computers including knowledge of oral presentations software, business intelligence and word processing software.
  • Strong communication skills, both in written and oral form (public speaking and delivery of presentations).
  • Good social skills, particularly in a multicultural environment;
  • Aptitude to work under minimum supervision.
