Internship - AI Development

This internship offers a recent graduate the opportunity to develop AI/LLM-powered features and work with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines within INTERPOL's AI Acceleration team. The role involves software development, testing, documentation, and deployment of AI tools in a multicultural international environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the AI Acceleration team in building and prototyping AI/LLM-powered features
• Support the development of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and agent memory, including data preparation and model integration
• Contribute to backend (Python / FastAPI) and, where relevant, frontend (React / TypeScript) development of AI tools
• Help with testing, documentation and deployment of AI components

Requirements

• Recent graduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Coursework, projects or prior experience in artificial intelligence, data science or software engineering
• Hands-on experience with Python is essential
• Fluency in English
• Knowledge in French, Spanish or Arabic would be an asset
• Previous experience with Python; exposure to AI/LLM concepts (RAG, embeddings, LLM APIs) is an asset
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git and general software development practices
• Strong interest in applied AI and building practical, AI-powered tools
• Some exposure to databases (SQL such as PostgreSQL, and/or vector databases) is an asset
