See your match score & applyThe Senior Finance Officer in the Concessional Financing Division (FINCF) of the Finance Department (FIN) supports the Fund’s concessional lending and debt relief operations for low-income countries. The role involves mobilizing resources, preparing Board documents, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and managing fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to implementing FINCF’s strategy for fundraising for concessional resources, including donor/partner focus and strategic outreach.
- Develop plans and tools for monitoring and maintaining records for contributions and agreements with member countries.
- Liaise with Executive Director offices and Legal Department, draft new contribution agreements and Board documents.
- Contribute to review of country and policy Board documents on concessional lending and debt relief operations.
- Prepare periodic Board papers, reports, tables, briefs, and analytical notes relevant to the division.
- Contribute to design of procedures and internal controls to mitigate operational risk and streamline work practices.
- Attend meetings and respond to queries from Executive Director offices, country authorities, other Fund departments and external counterparts.
- Lead and manage concessional fundraising initiatives and projects, coach and provide guidance to junior team members.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics or related field, or professional finance certification (such as CPA, CA, CFA).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
- Alternatively, minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related position at Grade A12, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the Fund’s policies and procedures on concessional financing and debt relief to LICs is a strong advantage.
- Experience with other IMF fundraising initiatives, including for capacity development, is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, technical, and writing skills.
- Sound judgement and ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong desire to build collaborative relationships with colleagues across the Fund.
