Research Officer/Senior Research Officer (Contractual)

The Development Macroeconomics Division (DMD) of the Research Department of the IMF is looking for a Research Officer. The candidate will work on research projects related to climate adaptation, energy transition, public investment, and fiscal policy, producing practical toolkits, research papers, and policy contributions.

Responsibilities

• Work on research projects of interest to the division.
• Develop and apply models to country cases in areas such as climate adaptation, energy transition, public investment, and fiscal policy.
• Produce practical toolkits, research papers, and contributions in policy.

Requirements

• Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree, or equivalent, in economics, finance, statistics or computer science, or a related field; or a university degree, or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and computer skills.
• Superior academic record.
• Excellent command of English, written and oral.
• Familiarity with software packages, such as Stata, Python, Matlab and Dynare.
