Intern, Ship to Shore Rights South-East Asia

The internship provides practical experience related to labour migration governance and decent work in the fishing and seafood processing sectors in South-East Asia. The intern will support programme activities including project development, monitoring and evaluation, communications, and workshop preparation under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to S2SR programme staff in developing and implementing various projects, including drafting of terms of reference, developing training tools, revising draft reports and finalizing publications.
• Support the monitoring and evaluation of the S2SR programme, including supporting data collection from partners, drafting of case studies and contributing analysis for reports.
• Assist with the preparation of proposals to donors for technical cooperation projects on labour migration governance and decent work.
• Draft, edit and proof-read content for the S2SR and ILO communication platforms, including updates on activities, articles and briefs, and content for social media and other communication products as required.
• Develop and edit presentations for delivery by S2SR programme staff.
• Prepare materials and provide support for S2SR workshops and meetings organized.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Requirements

• Candidates must be enrolled in the final year of a postgraduate degree (master's degree or equivalent) in human rights, public policy, international relations, law or a closely related field; or have completed the degree during the year preceding the application.
• Relevant work experience in the field of international development is considered an asset.
• Working-level proficiency in the English language, both oral and written, is required.
• Proficiency in any other South-East Asian language is considered an asset.
• Adaptable to an international, multi-cultural and multilingual environment, good communication skills and be able to work in a team.
• Knowledge or experience in thematic areas of labour migration, work in the fishing, seafood processing and aquaculture sectors, gender equality and women’s empowerment, and labour rights protection are considered an asset.
