WBG Pioneer - Blended Finance Data Analytics Intern

The WBG Pioneer internship offers postgraduate students a high impact learning experience at the heart of global development. The Blended Finance Data Analytics Intern will support data analytics, reporting automation, and development of data-driven insights for Blended Finance and fundraising operations within IFC's Partnerships & Blended Finance Department.

Responsibilities

• Support data analytics, reporting automation, and the development of data-driven insights for Blended Finance and fundraising operations.
• Contribute to Blended Finance and Fundraising analytics by identifying trends, drivers, performance patterns, and forward-look recommendations to Management.
• Apply advanced data analytics, visualization, and AI-enabled techniques to generate insights from Blended Finance and Fundraising data.
• Explore opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and generative AI solutions to improve data quality and data gaps.

Requirements

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, a postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program.
• Demonstrated experience through coursework, academic research, internships, or employment in financial services, investment analysis, data analytics, or related disciplines.
• Understanding of financial products, investment processes, financial institutions, capital markets, or development finance.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, generative AI, data automation, and advanced analytics tools and their practical application to business problems.
• Academic background must align with the requirements outlined in the job description.
• Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages may be required depending on the role.
