ICT Specialist 2 manages and organizes all ICT systems and services in the location where posted, assisting the ICT Manager in designing and installing ICT infrastructure. The role includes maintaining ICT inventory, ensuring infrastructure functionality, training end-users, and supporting ICT service requests.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures ICT inventory is updated regularly and maintains adequate stocks levels.
  • Ensures existing ICT infrastructure is functional.
  • Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Briefs, advises and trains end-users on the ICRC's ICT systems.
  • Maintains ICT stock and inventory, carries out regular physical checks.
  • Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment.
  • Carries out the duties of ICT Specialist 1 when absent.
  • May be called upon to manage and train ICT teams.
  • Ensure planning, deployment and attribution of ICT equipment (computers, network, printers, PABX, Telecom materials, Radios, etc.).
  • Ensure maintenance, service and proper handling of ICT assets in a small-to-medium sized infrastructure.
  • Maintain and exploit existing systems, mainly independently.
  • Manage and administrate a park of materials.
  • Provide training and support to the users.
  • Support Level 2 ICT Service Requests within the area of responsibility in collaboration with other support teams and ensure compliance of related management policies.
  • Prepare for meetings by setting up rooms and materials, including technical set-up for conference calls, presentations, and video conferences.
  • Reports regularly or upon request to superiors on the department’s activities, pending, state of projects, problems, etc.
  • Collects and shares information to improve ICRC’s understanding of the environment humanitarian trends and responses.
  • Represents the ICRC appropriately during activities, meetings and in the field.
  • Take responsibility for own professional learning and development.
  • Translates /interprets as required by the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in IT, electronics, computer science or similar field.
  • Good command (spoken and written) of English and Tigrigna languages.
  • 3–4 years' troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.).
  • 1 year of people-management experience a strong asset.
