See your match score & applyThe Economic Security Generalist plans, assesses, designs, implements and monitors the ICRC’s Economic Security programme in line with the country strategy. The role involves conducting assessments, designing and implementing livelihood interventions, managing beneficiary registration and aid distribution, and supporting monitoring and reporting activities in the Gaza area of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Plans, assesses, designs, implements and monitors the ICRC’s Economic Security programme in line with the country strategy
- Contributes to designing or adjusting data-collection tools and performs mid-level qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Collects secondary information and nutrition information at household level to identify vulnerabilities
- Produces Economic Security Assessment reports and contributes to response analysis
- Designs and implements voucher, fair, food/cash-for-work, cash transfer and microeconomic initiative programs
- Plans, organizes and implements livelihood interventions according to the EcoSec Strategy and Operational Plan
- Carries out registration of beneficiaries and maintains beneficiary databases
- Supports cash team in verifying beneficiaries and participates in verification of households
- Plans, organizes and carries out aid distribution following quality benchmarks
- Collects and analyses market price data and performs SWOT analysis to identify response options
- Contributes to designing methods for registering beneficiaries and aid distribution logistics
- Translates documents and interprets upon request
- May provide supervision and guidance to EcoSec staff at B1 levels
- Processes and manages EcoSec project payments and prepares monthly cash forecasts
- Prepares movement plans and acts as back-up focal point for the Middle Area
- Receives, documents, and resolves beneficiary complaints related to payments or PalPay codes
- Supports Post-Distribution and Post Harvest Monitoring activities
- Verifies selected workers’ data to avoid duplication or repeated employment
- Monitors and flags dynamics, emerging trends, challenges and events affecting economic security in the AoR
- Advises field teams in identification of needs and prioritization exercises
- Contributes to monthly AoR meetings and supports multidisciplinary efforts
Requirements
- University degree in Economics, Development studies, Sociology or Agriculture/Veterinary science
- Very good command (spoken and written) of English and Arabic
- Experience in working with multi-cultural team
- 4-6 years’ experience in a similar field of activity
- Comprehensive knowledge of and exposure to a wide range of humanitarian assistance and emergency relief
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of political, social, economic and cultural aspect of Gaza
- Computer proficiency especially in MS Office suite
