The internship offers an opportunity to assist the Facilities Management Unit in managing the ICC headquarters premises, including coordinating maintenance, managing vendor relationships, supporting space planning, and contributing to sustainability initiatives. The intern will work under the supervision of the Associate Facilities Officer and gain practical experience in facility management within an international judicial institution.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating routine maintenance tasks and promptly addressing facility-related issues.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating internal moves and changes within the organization.
  • Support in managing relationships with facility service vendors.
  • Assist in space planning and allocation of office space to optimize functionality.
  • Utilize facility management software (Planon) to create and manage work orders, track facility requests, and generate reports.
  • Contribute to planning and executing events, coordinating logistics such as room setup and catering.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and explore opportunities to reduce energy consumption and waste.
  • Attend facility management team meetings and contribute ideas.
  • Assist with other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a secondary education or be in the final stages of a relevant study at a recognised educational institution.
  • Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance.
  • Candidates with a degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration or in a related field are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Other academic qualifications are welcome.
  • Internship placements focus on candidates in the early stages of their professional careers.
  • Practical experience is not an essential prerequisite for selection.
  • Practical experience that is relevant to the work of the Court may be considered an asset, but should not exceed 3 (three) years.
  • Knowledge of Planon (Facilities Management software) is considered an asset.
  • Able to adapt to multicultural and multilingual working environments.
  • Possesses strong teamwork skills (listens, consults and communicates proactively).
  • Has acquired a good standard of computer skills.
  • Proficiency in one of the two working languages of the Court, French and English, is required.
  • Knowledge of the other working language, as well as knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
  • Internship and visiting professional placements at the ICC are unfunded; applicants must be able to support themselves for the entire duration.
