The Safeguards Information Assistant is responsible for collecting, processing, and maintaining data related to State declarations and safeguards verification. The role includes preparing evaluation reports, resolving data discrepancies, distributing analytical reports, and supporting the development of information systems and work processes within the Section.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and process diverse data related to safeguards verification, State declarations, and environmental sampling, ensuring complete and accurate data entry and follow-up for clarification.
  • Upload and maintain electronic files in the Integrated Safeguards Environment (ISE) or other environments to support Safeguards Implementation Report (SIR), State Evaluation Reports (SERs), and other documents.
  • Monitor and track data flow and related work processes to ensure long-term integrity of information repositories.
  • Track due dates and remind senior staff of workflow deadlines to ensure timely preparation and delivery of datasets and standard products.
  • Monitor system performance and assist in further development of information systems, providing feedback and suggesting improvements.
  • Support maintenance of internal digital portal and publicly accessible web pages, liaising with IT support on technical issues.
  • Assist evaluators in drafting evaluation reports.
  • Provide administrative, outreach, and documentation support for scientific meetings organized by the Section.
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests by performing non-routine data processing tasks.

Requirements

  • Completed secondary education.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in data processing, data quality control or similar tasks.
  • Experience of performing information analysis and preparing summaries and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly at times of high workload.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English.
  • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
  • Administrative skills testing to IAEA standard might be part of the selection process.
