See your match score & applyThe Young Professional Officer (Programme Support) assists and supports the development, implementation and monitoring of assigned projects, partnership development, and outreach efforts. This includes support of operational and financial activities, preparation of communication materials, coordination of events, and knowledge management at the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre in Vienna, Austria.
Responsibilities
- Analyses relevant technical social, economic, environmental, and technology information, data and/or statistics for input in various documents.
- Maintains records and updates databases and web pages.
- Provides technical support to various projects.
- Collaborates in the development of training tools and materials and the organization of workshops/seminars, etc.
- Participates in the organization and follow-up of meetings, consultations and conferences, the production of required materials and the provision of information and assistance to partners.
- Assists in the drafting of project proposals, including data collection, progress monitoring and reporting.
- Supports partnership development and the facilitation of operational processes related to acceptance of donor contributions, partnerships and resource mobilization activities.
- Contributes to the development of communication materials and presentations for engagement with partners of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre.
- Supports the organization and delivery of events, such as webinars, side events, and exhibitions.
- Assists and support financial planning and implementation by monitoring expenditure, identifying variances, and preparing structured financial analyses to facilitate informed managerial decisions.
- Supports the coordination and review of travel plans and meeting plans, ensuring compliance with the procedures and funds allocations.
- Monitors quality checks for all documentation from the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre's/Director's office.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, accounting or finance, social science, international relations or a closely related field.
- One year of relevant experience in budget and project planning, project coordination and monitoring, and outreach activities, including at international level.
- Working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (intermediate proficiency - level B) of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
- Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirable.
- Extent and relevance of experience in collecting, analysing and summarizing technical information and data.
- Extent and relevance of experience in collecting and analysing statistical data, graphs report preparation.
- Experience in project development, implementation and reporting.
- Experience in partnership development and resource mobilization is an asset.
- Proven analytical skills and handling a large set of data is an asset.
- Familiarity with knowledge management.
- Candidates should be 32 years of age or younger as of 31 December of the year of application.
