The Junior Programme Support Assistant will support the implementation of the RAINS project activities in Bangladesh, focusing on nutrition-sensitive agricultural production, market linkage, off-farm diversification, and project management support. The role involves organizing training and workshops, supporting monitoring and evaluation, communications, and assisting with nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, roundtables, and training sessions for farmers and woman- and youth focused activities
  • Support in preparing materials, handouts and presentations to improve knowledge, practices and services in nutrition and the socio-economic status of women
  • Support promoting woman- and youth tailored off-farm income-generating activities to promote employment and self-employment opportunities
  • Support coordination with the RAINS Project Management Unit
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluation tasks related to project beneficiaries
  • Support capturing data/evidence and lessons learned for policy engagement
  • Assist in project communications activities and support activities for the “International Year of the Woman Farmer”
  • Support technical assistance for implementation of nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions including diversified production, climate-resilient homestead gardening, and integrated farming models
  • Support development and delivery of nutrition education, SBCC materials for DAE, DAM, Lead Farmers, and community groups
  • Support nutrition-related assessments, monitoring, evidence generation, and documentation of lessons learned and good practices
  • Support strengthening nutrition-sensitive value chains approach through Producer Organization capacity development and cascade training
  • Support preparation of policy briefs, evidence briefs, success stories, and knowledge products for scaling-up and policy engagement
  • Support the McGovern-Dole School Feeding Programme by conducting surveys, monitoring and impact documentation of Little Agriculturist Club activities
  • Support collection of case stories, good practices and evidence for reporting, knowledge products and programme learning
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food or relevant field
  • At least one year of experience in agriculture, food science or similar field
  • Working knowledge of (level C) English
  • National of Bangladesh
  • Working knowledge of Bangla is preferable
  • Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office software, email, internet, spread sheets
  • Skills in supporting project management
