(Senior) Transaction Operations Officer

The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking a (Senior) Transaction Operations Officer to support the execution and oversight of financial and operational activities related to investment and treasury operations. The role involves process improvement, cash flow management, audit support, and participation in digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support with innovation and continuous process improvement through the simplification, automation and digitalization of operational processes
• Execute and oversee cash flow management activities for private equity, debt and guarantee products, including drawdowns, repayments, guarantee calls, disbursements, forecasting and reconciliations
• Support external audit activities by providing clear explanations of relevant processes and controls
• Contribute to financial risk management and a robust control environment through effective controls, compliance with procedures, and the application of best practices
• Actively participate in wider Division initiatives, including EIB Group digital transformation projects and the implementation of data management capabilities supporting the transition towards a more data-driven organisation

Requirements

• At least three (3) years of post-graduation (after having obtained your initial university diploma) relevant professional experience, preferably gained in finance, operations or investment administration
• University degree, preferably at postgraduate level, in finance, economics, business administration or a similar field
• Proven experience with financial products relevant for EIF such as capital calls, distributions, repayments, disbursements or reconciliations, combined with previous exposure and work with associated financial risks, with the ability to identify, assess and mitigate risks related to these products
• Proven experience in contributing to digital initiatives and process transformation, with the ability to foster innovation and support the continuous enhancement of operational processes
• Excellent spoken and written English; knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage
• Ability to proactively identify organizational challenges and leverage creative thinking to develop effective, sustainable solutions
• Ability to apply techniques to mitigate effects of stress resulting from tight deadlines, conflicting priorities or setbacks and advance despite adversities
• Ability to develop and maintain long-term and/or trusting relationships with customers, distributors, suppliers, or other parties in marketing, selling, servicing or other environments where a relationship is crucial to on-going success
• Ability to assemble, organize, gain the involvement of, and influence a group of diverse individuals to work together effectively for the good of a deliverable
• Demonstrate ability to manage the end-to-end process of cash ins and cash outs, including the preparation and timely submission of payment instructions for the EIBG products such as private equity, guarantees, and micro-finance
• Strong understanding of financial systems, business intelligence (BI) platforms, and document management solutions such as eFront, BO, and M-Files for seamless data integration and reporting
• Ability to write and maintain operational procedures
• Ability to capture organisational issues and propose improvements to own and related processes and procedures
• Knowledge of methodologies and systems for gathering, organisation, analysis and sharing of organisation's knowledge in terms of resources, documents, and skills
• Ability to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between different parts of the organisation
• Ability to manage projects, according to the agreed project plan, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of the projects
