See your match score & applyThe Protection Team Leader - Child Protection is responsible for the technical implementation of DRC's Child Protection programming in Tripoli, managing a team of 11 protection staff. The role includes ensuring intervention fidelity, providing technical supervision, and coordinating program activities in child protection.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment processes for team members and ensure compliance with DRC On- and off boarding SOPs.
- Ensure team members fulfill their roles as per job descriptions and DRC Code of Conduct, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Execute performance management of team members with involvement of technical line manager and in keeping with DRC HR policies.
- Support professional development and capacity building of team members.
- Organise efficient field presence and workload distribution ensuring compliance with technical SOPs and guidance.
- Encourage a positive, inclusive and mutually supportive team spirit and overall wellbeing.
- Coordinate leave plans and schedules for effective program implementation.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Child Protection concepts and programming and engage in ongoing learning and technical exchange.
- Enable technical quality control and advancement of team members through training and supervision.
- Run regular technical supervision for case management teams in accord with CP Minimum Standards.
- Coach team members on technical topics and skills for child-friendly spaces and community-based mechanisms.
- Deliver trainings on Child Protection topics for other DRC sectors and stakeholders.
- Plan and oversee implementation of Child Protection activities under guidance of Program Manager.
- Ensure compliance with CP Minimum Standards, DRC Child Protection policy and applicable DRC Global and ALT Protection guidance and SOPs.
- Lead team members in following Protection information management principles ensuring data confidentiality and quality.
- Provide data analysis and reporting for internal MEAL processes and project requirements.
- Lead Child Protection contribution to service mapping exercises and community analyses.
- Engage in bilateral and coordination relationships with counterparts and stakeholders in Child Protection.
- Provide mentorship for direct reports in day to day implementation tasks.
- Plan and coordinate logistics and movements collaborating with Protection and Support teams.
- Initiate procurements in accord with procurement plan and Protection sector obligations.
- Ensure distribution plans are prepared and shared with logistics timely.
- Manage team’s cash advances and cash for protection activities within project scope and support budget forecasting and tracking.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience working for an NGO, INGO, UN agency or other duty bearer in Protection.
- Experience in humanitarian response and protection, especially child protection or programmes working with children (e.g. MHPSS) is highly preferred.
- Demonstrable competence in people management, with preference for proven management experience at minimum mid level for an implementing team.
- Past experience in technical supervision in Protection and preferably Child Protection Case Management is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively represent a humanitarian organization and build trust with individuals and communities.
- Good grasp of technical and core humanitarian competencies of Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
- Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Past experience in ERP systems appreciated.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, ability and willingness to work with all groups of conflict-affected populations including vulnerable migrants and refugees.
- Field-oriented attitude and strong humanitarian spirit.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to Child Protection operations such as social work, psychology, education etc.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic.
- Basic knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
