Project Budget & Resource Coordinator

Join CERN’s IT Department to support projects at the forefront of science and technology by developing expertise in project finance, budget coordination, and resource planning. The role involves financial analysis, reporting, and stakeholder coordination for large-scale international scientific initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support budget planning, forecasting, and the maintenance of financial records, tracking files, and reporting tools.
• Prepare and consolidate financial reports, budget updates, and analytical material for internal reviews, governance meetings, and audits.
• Monitor expenditure, validate financial transactions and purchase requests, and help ensure compliance with internal procedures and financial rules.
• Analyse financial and resource data to support planning, prioritisation, and decision-making.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, and resource assumptions, helping to align operational planning with budgetary constraints.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Finance, Business Administration, Project Administration or a related field.
• Experience and strong interest in resource planning, financial monitoring, and reporting.
• Familiarity with CERN budget processes and financial tools is an advantage.
• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and working with structured data.
• Experience using financial or accounting systems, ideally including ERP or institutional finance tools.
• Knowledge of budget planning and personnel and material resource coordination.
• Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
