As a Procurement Professional at CERN, you will participate in the new ERP implementation project and Source to Contract (S2C) project, as well as the procurement of software. You will be responsible for conducting procurements, negotiating contracts, and providing regular reports to management on procurement progress.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the new ERP implementation Project.
  • Participate in specific procurements for supply and IT contracts and license agreements, including conducting price inquiries and invitations to tender, negotiating terms, and placing orders and contracts.
  • Provide regular reports to management on procurement progress.

Requirements

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, excluding Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot and Croatian nationals due to ceiling limits.
  • By the application deadline, you have a master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of professional experience since graduation or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of professional experience since graduation.
  • You are not eligible with only a bachelor’s degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Your studies focused on Computer Science, Engineering, Economics.
  • Experience and knowledge of procurement of supply IT/contracts and/or license agreements.
  • Good communication skills, able to challenge constructively, adapt to feedback, and persuade others of your point of view.
  • Able to support the negotiation team in commercial, technical, and contractual negotiations.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and conflict.
  • Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
  • Drafting of commercial documents for a supply/IT contract or a license agreement.
  • Defining procurement strategies.
  • Sourcing new suppliers.
  • Communication and negotiation.
  • Managing and following up commercial aspects of contracts, including critical examination and detailed analysis of commercial offers.
