Full-Stack Software Developer (Java / React)

CERN’s Engineering Information Management group is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions supporting engineering and information management processes. The role involves working with modern technologies such as React, Java Spring Boot, Oracle, and BPMN in an Agile environment to support critical safety and access applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Java, React, and Oracle technologies.
• Collaborate with engineers and IT specialists to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Ensure software quality through testing, debugging, and performance optimisation.
• Participate in Agile development practices within a fast-paced team.

Requirements

• You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, excluding Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot, Croatian and Turkish nationals due to Associate Membership Agreement limits.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field.
• Your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree; you must have a university degree and cannot hold a PhD.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
• Experience developing Web Applications using modern front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue JS) and Java back-end.
• Your studies focused on Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.
• Familiarity with Java, React, and Oracle databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, international environment.
• Desire to learn processes specific to CERN (Safety, Access, ...).
• Experience with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is a plus.
• Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
