You will help keep abreast of developments in particle physics and related fields through scientific activities carried out within the CERN scientific environment. During your stay, you will pursue research or teaching-related scientific activities in your field of expertise and contribute your experience and knowledge to the scientific life of the Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scientific work in your field of expertise in particle physics or related domains.
  • Follow and engage with current research activities and developments relevant to your discipline.
  • Interact with researchers and scientific groups within the CERN scientific environment.
  • Share your expertise and scientific perspective through discussions and exchanges during your stay.

Requirements

  • You remain employed by your home institute during your appointment at CERN and your institute is located in a CERN Member or Associate Member State (except France, Italy, Germany and Great Britain).
  • By the application deadline, you must be below the CERN retirement age.
  • This VN is for Experimental Physics; if your field is Theoretical Physics, please consult open positions within the programme available on the Associate Programmes Page.
  • You carry out scientific activities using CERN's research facilities.
  • You contribute to experimental physics programmes, as well as related applied activities.
  • You engage with CERN scientific teams and programmes within your field of expertise.
  • You bring your experience and expertise to the scientific work and collaborations carried out at CERN.
  • You demonstrate strong scientific expertise and analytical capabilities in your field.
  • You are able to engage in high-level scientific discussions and knowledge exchange.
  • You work effectively in an international and collaborative research environment.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally in a scientific context, in English and/or French.
  • Your CV (English or French)
  • Three recent letters of recommendation (not older than one year at the application deadline) outlining your academic and/or professional achievements.
  • A list of the 10 most relevant publications indicating the personal contribution in 2-3 lines each.
