See your match score & applyThe Knowledge Management Officer will develop and implement a knowledge management strategy to organize, manage, disseminate, and capitalize on data and knowledge generated by the Africa-EU Space Partnership Programme. The role includes producing information products, coordinating knowledge management events, and ensuring optimal operation of digital platforms to promote knowledge sharing and sustainability of the programme.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a knowledge management strategy for the Africa-EU Space Partnership Programme.
- Produce and share information and publications at agreed frequencies to stakeholders and the wider public.
- Lead coordination of related SPP knowledge management and communications events.
- Ensure optimal operation of SPP digital platforms including the AfSA website and portals.
- Conduct an assessment of existing knowledge management practices.
- Identify and plan knowledge management priorities internally and externally.
- Propose appropriate tools and mechanisms for collection, management, dissemination, and capitalization of knowledge.
- Ensure ownership and effective implementation of the knowledge management strategy throughout the Programme lifecycle.
- Strengthen internal teams’ capacities on knowledge management practices and tools.
- Analyze existing documents and conduct consultations with key stakeholders to identify knowledge management needs and opportunities.
- Support planning, production, dissemination, and evaluation of communication and knowledge management products.
- Design and produce multimedia content to showcase knowledge generated by the programme and promote visibility.
- Improve and optimize digital platforms to ensure performance, accessibility, and enhanced user experience.
- Deploy and monitor communication campaigns on social media with rigorous monitoring and evaluation.
- Organize training sessions or knowledge-sharing workshops to strengthen capacities.
- Integrate knowledge capitalization into program monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge database mapping key findings and outputs.
- Analyze and synthesize program results to provide strategic recommendations.
- Provide regular detailed monthly reports outlining activities, results, progress, and recommendations.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in communication, Marketing, Knowledge Management, Information Sciences, or any related field, with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience in knowledge management, knowledge capitalization and/or information management, preferably in the development sector, of which at least three (3) years must be at supervisory level; OR Bachelor's degree in communication, Marketing, Knowledge Management, Information Sciences, or any related field, with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience in knowledge management, knowledge capitalization and/or information management, preferably in the development sector, of which at least three (3) years must be at supervisory level.
- Demonstrated experience in developing various types of content, including blog posts, social media content, website copy and marketing materials.
- Exposure to the work of international organizations or regional institutions on Africa–Europe joint space programmes.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) strategies to improve website visibility and traffic.
- Demonstrated experience in using Content Management Systems (CMS) to create, manage and publish website content.
- Experience in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data to support informed marketing decisions and assessing campaign performance.
- Ability to work under pressure in a multi-cultural environment.
- Use strong political and diplomatic tact and skills to achieve documented objectives.
- Work effectively with people from various backgrounds and in an environment where diversity is respected.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with top level stakeholders.
- Identify key strategic opportunities and risks.
- Knowledge of the space policies, strategic frameworks and reference documents of the European Union and the African Union.
- Sound knowledge in the use of standard software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of design principles and relevant design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, to develop visually appealing communication and marketing materials.
- Demonstrated ability to generate innovative ideas and develop creative and effective marketing campaigns.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with colleagues, clients and other relevant stakeholders.
