See your match score & applyThe Officer will provide technical and administrative support for managing political relations and development cooperation with India, Qatar, the GCC, and Middle East countries. The role involves coordinating projects, preparing briefing materials, assisting in meetings, and liaising with relevant stakeholders to support ASEAN's political and security community objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support for the management and facilitation of political relations and development cooperation with India, Qatar, the GCC, and countries and regional organisations in the Middle East.
- Compile and/or assist in the preparation of briefing notes, talking points, presentations and other relevant documents for meetings.
- Assist in meetings, and prepare meeting reports and records of discussion.
- Assist in coordinating follow-up actions and decisions with relevant internal and external parties.
- Assist in communicating and coordinating with focal points and relevant stakeholders under the above-described purview.
- Provide support to and liaise with ASEAN Country Coordinator for ASEAN-India dialogue relations and ASEAN-GCC relations, relevant Departments/Divisions of the ASEAN Secretariat with regard to the ASEAN Secretariat’s coordinatorship role for Sectoral Development Partnership with Qatar.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting of the progress of political relations and development cooperation under the above-described purview.
- Coordinate and facilitate projects/programmes and activities under the above-described cooperation frameworks.
- Assist in coordinating projects/programme and activities.
- Assist in formulation/refinement of project/programme proposals and mobilisation of funding support.
- Assist in developing, monitoring and facilitating the implementation of action plans, work programmes or practical cooperation areas, programmes, projects and activities under the frameworks of the above-described partnerships.
- Assist in managing coordination and communication with the diplomatic Missions of the formal partners under the assigned purview.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Management; and/or Bachelor’s degree in the afore-mentioned fields or discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in technical role.
- Demonstrated knowledge in policy, research and technical skills in the relevant area and the ability to acquire them.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise tasks and workflows, with proven ability for accuracy under pressure and adherence to deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work practices.
- Proven skills in problem-solving in a complex organisational environment and in work planning.
- Ability to multi-task, work long and irregular hours, perform tasks outside the usual job scope, and willingness to travel frequently on short notice.
- Good command of English, written and spoken.
- Competency in computer skills with adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook where relevant to the position.
