The American Red Cross is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Account Manager to lead strategic sales efforts within a high-value hospital territory in Richmond, Charlottesville and surrounding areas. The role involves managing key clinical and executive-level relationships, educating stakeholders on Red Cross offerings, negotiating contracts, and expanding the footprint into new hospital systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of hospital accounts generating approximately $30M in revenue.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical leaders and C-suite executives.
  • Educate clients on Red Cross products, services, and value propositions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within and beyond the current customer base.
  • Lead contract negotiations and renewals to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance and support to volunteers as needed in support of hospital engagement.
  • Travel to assigned hospitals and prospects at least 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a background in science or healthcare is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, ideally in healthcare sales, clinical services, or a related field.
  • Experience selling to hospitals, pharma, or medical device companies is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage both clinical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to absorb and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Collaborative, analytical, and results-driven mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools; ability to manage data and reporting.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within the assigned territory, with the expectation of being in the field 2-3 days per week.
  • Some overnight travel (up to 20%) may be required.
