See your match score & applyAs a Senior Community Disaster Program Manager, you will guide, lead and support teams of employees and trained volunteers to deliver comfort and care in times of disaster. You will build, sustain, and energize the employee and volunteer workforce to create and maintain a foundation of continuous and robust engagement, ensuring communities are ready to respond to disasters.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a diverse volunteer team responsible for the implementation of volunteer-led disaster cycle services programming throughout the assigned geographic area, or functional activities throughout the region.
- Oversee the successful implementation of either disaster cycle services activities within assigned geographic area, or specific functional activities within the region.
- Champion and drive the development of Disaster Leadership Volunteers, including volunteer partners, to meet specific responsibilities as part of their work in disaster readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery.
- Develop and support disaster volunteers who are the primary workforce, and representative of the communities they serve, both culturally and linguistically.
- Lead and empower a diverse team of volunteers and employees.
- Supervise the team’s efforts to prepare and mobilize communities and engage partners with specific functional expertise and assets to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and emergencies in assigned geographic area.
- Build relationships and collaborate in the matrix management environment with internal partners, including employees and volunteers.
- Act as a regional Red Cross disaster subject matter expert to maximize Red Cross presence and community engagement and mobilization.
- Initiate, scale, coordinate and manage disaster relief operations in the region, or functional activities in alignment with the Disaster Cycle Services Concept of Operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience.
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license & a clean MVR.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills to interpret program trends, results, formulate recommendations, and develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements.
- Proven record of accomplishment of collaboration with diverse groups and individuals representative of all the demographics of this community, managing multiple priorities, facilitation, problem solving, marketing, leadership, and partnership management.
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work outside of regular duty hours including nights and weekends.
- Candidate must reside no more than 1 hour from Cleveland.
- Must be able to travel throughout the region to Canton, Akron, Cleveland, Toledo and Elyria.
