See your match score & applyThe General Maintenance Tech II performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, and electrical work. The role supports maintenance of facilities and fleet vehicles across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
- Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns.
- Use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment.
- Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
- Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties involving routine tasks such as patching holes, repairing concrete, painting, and minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural work.
- Document installation and repairs as required by regulatory agencies.
- Install, operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related mechanical equipment.
- Move and store furniture and equipment as needed.
- Estimate time and material costs of various projects and requisition new supplies and equipment.
- Plant and tend flowerbeds, prune shrubs and trees, water lawns and flowerbeds, and apply fertilizer and insecticides.
- Perform snow removal and apply snow-melting chemicals when necessary.
- Drive vehicles to other locations as required.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Responsible for 24 fleet vehicles across 3 facilities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work is required.
- May require a valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
- Previous truck and/or bus driving experience is desirable.
- May be required to have basic computer skills.
- Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work on a team.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted and using hand and power tools.
- Position may require climbing ladders for top-level selection.
