See your match score & applyThe Director Disaster Finance Response leads the Domestic Disaster Finance Response Team overseeing financial infrastructure supporting domestic disaster relief operations, including purchasing, financial controls, planning, and reporting. The role manages direct reports and supports disaster finance operations with agile tools and strong controls, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Domestic Disaster Finance Response Team and oversee financial infrastructure supporting domestic disaster relief operations.
- Review financial data analysis related to operations, business performance, opportunities, investments, etc.
- Direct financial analysis projects, forecasting, and statistical studies.
- Ensure all reports and disclosures comply with governmental regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
- Direct employees engaged in preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements.
- Support domestic disaster with agile and quick purchasing and financial tools/systems while ensuring strong financial controls.
- Lead team in applying newer technologies for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure expensive domestic disaster relief operations are well-supported by finance department during response phase and facilitate transition to next phase.
- Establish operating policies and procedures affecting departments and subordinate sections.
- Interpret company-wide policies and procedures.
- Develop budgets, schedules, and performance standards for Disaster Finance Response team.
- Partner with Disaster Cycle Services to create budgets for disaster response phase and analyze/report spend against budgets and forecast final response cost weekly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
- CPA and MBA may be preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- 5 years of management experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in planning and overseeing analytical programs and tactical activities including purchasing tools and controls.
- Ability to determine client and customer requirements and translate requirements into organizational plans.
- Exercise sound judgement in complex situations with competing interests.
- Apply financial acumen to all initiatives.
- Adapt to constantly changing situations with flexible and creative approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications (specifically Excel), and database applications when applicable.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Query, Power BI, and Python or similar systems are preferred.
- Ability to work on a team.
- Willingness to travel three to four weeks per year including meetings, conferences, and disaster relief operations.
- Ability to work during non-standard hours at no-notice due to disasters.
