Perform installation, service, calibration, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment and instrumentation. Provide technical assistance and support preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment meets specified requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, service and calibration of biomedical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Install, qualify, maintain, service, modify, troubleshoot, safety test, and calibrate biomedical equipment by interpreting engineering and vendor information, schematic diagrams and graphic illustrations.
  • Diagnose and correct system or equipment malfunctions by repairing or replacing parts to ensure equipment meets specified requirements.
  • Assist in support of a systematic preventive maintenance program for biomedical equipment and instrumentation including entry into Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel in operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Meet departmental performance indicator standards consistently.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of related experience preferred.
  • Maintenance skills in electronics, mechanical or electromechanical device repair preferred.
  • Ability to read color codes on wiring and electrical components.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both written and oral instructions.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to take support calls.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs frequently and unassisted.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools and work with a variety of chemicals and solvents.
  • Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection.
  • Work environment consists of moderate noise and ability to work in a small cubicle and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
  • Work in extreme temperatures for short duration.
