See your match score & applyThe Investment Specialist will lead the Deal Team in the Equity Investment Unit, contributing to the development of a best-in-class equity asset and portfolio management function. The role involves origination and processing of equity investments, portfolio management, strategy development, governance and risk advisory, external liaison, and staff management.
Responsibilities
- Originate equity investments and manage due diligence process ensuring assessment of risks and returns.
- Provide advice on direct equity structuring, valuation, and bidding strategy to the deal team.
- Assume primary relationship responsibility for assigned accounts and oversee monitoring of financial health and development impact.
- Review documents such as waivers, amendments, ratings, quarterly valuation, exit proposals.
- Serve as nominee director on the board of ADB investee companies.
- Ensure compliance to ADB's shareholder agreement rights and Environmental and Social safeguards standards.
- Evaluate portfolio based on composition, size, quality, concentration risk, diversification, credit quality migration, and valuation movements.
- Compare and implement approved exit strategies.
- Lead development of portfolio management strategy.
- Lead introduction of international best practices in corporate governance, risk management and internal controls at investee companies.
- Measure development, environmental and social safeguard outcomes.
- Develop relationships with financial intermediaries, institutional investors, commercial partners and business leaders.
- Analyze and report on market and investment trends.
- Oversee staff by providing clear direction, monitoring, feedback, and supporting learning and development goals.
Requirements
- A University degree in business administration, finance, or related fields; preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent.
- At least 6 years of experience with the private sector in Origination, Processing and Portfolio management covering equity, capital markets and financial structuring.
- International experience working in several emerging markets with understanding and appreciation of equity markets and products.
- Structuring and financing capabilities.
- Experience in financial modeling, risk management and advanced valuation analysis.
- Expected to lead negotiations with portfolio companies, shareholders, sponsors and existing/new investors.
- Experience leading diverse team.
- Frequent travel to developing member countries (DMCs).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, in particular ability in business writing.
