Azerbaijan has emerged as a key transport and logistics hub between Europe and Asia, contributing to major regional connectivity initiatives, investing in modern transport infrastructure and expanding cooperation with regional partners. Since 2022, we have witnessed an increase in cargo volumes along the Middle Corridor by almost 90%. Strategic infrastructure projects along the Middle Corridor spearheaded by Azerbaijan, including the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, are helping to create more resilient, diversified and sustainable supply chains between Asia and Europe. This growth demonstrates the Middle Corridor's considerable potential as a key driver of regional connectivity, trade facilitation and sustainable economic development.

It must reach the people living in our occupied historic regions as well, who remain and will always remain part of our shared future. The challenges facing our country also remind us that national stability and success cannot be separated from the wider regional context. We have consistently sought to act as an honest broker in regional initiatives, fostering cooperation and contributing to peaceful solutions. Today, we see a genuine opportunity to turn a new page and build a more peaceful and interconnected region based on shared commitment to a better future. This spirit of cooperation must also translate into tangible economic opportunities for the region. As an integral part of the South Caucasus and the Middle Corridor, Georgia is well positioned to strengthen connectivity between Central Asia and Europe. Our strategic location and direct access to the Black Sea facilitate trade and investment linking landlocked countries in our wider region to global supply chains.

We regard the confidence placed in us as both a great responsibility and an opportunity to work together with the states of the group to give fresh impetus to the practical implementation of the programme of action in such priority areas as transport and energy connectivity. We proceed from the need to translate the agreements reached into concrete infrastructure, trade and investment projects. We propose considering the establishment in Turkmenistan, under the auspices of the United Nations of International Centre for Sustainable Trade, Logistics and Custom Cooperation. Such a centre could serve as a practical platform for harmonizing procedures, exchanging best practices, digitalizing transit and expanding developing countries access to global markets. Our country also proposes the establishment, under the auspices of the United Nations of Transregional Transport Corridor, linking South and Central Asia with Europe through the Caspian Sea Middle corridor. We are confident that its development would help diversify routes, strengthen connectivity, expand trade and promote global economic ties among the regions. Excellencies, distinguished delegates.
