Chauffeur.e SC2

The Chauffeur.e SC2 position at WFP Adre office involves driving various vehicles including light vehicles, trucks, vans, motorcycles, and occasionally boats. The role includes ensuring safe and efficient transport of authorized personnel and goods, maintaining vehicle condition, and performing simple administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure transport of authorized personnel and goods efficiently and safely, including simple translation during transport if needed.
• Welcome official personnel and visitors at the airport or other entry points and assist with visa and customs formalities to ensure safe and smooth arrival at authorized destinations.
• Keep vehicle maintenance log up to date and report daily mechanical status to supervisor to ensure efficient vehicle use and fuel consumption.
• Ensure assigned vehicle is clean, functional, properly equipped with mandatory materials, and that travel authorizations are on board; report mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Comply with rules and regulations for field deliveries and report any accidents or issues immediately to supervisor for guidance.
• Perform simple administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, stock management, delivery or collection of items, mail dispatch, and payment of bills as needed to provide administrative support.

Requirements

• Have completed secondary education.
• Official driver training and a valid driving license authorizing the use of the assigned vehicle in compliance with local regulations.
• At least two years of experience as a driver, preferably in an embassy, a United Nations system organization, or another international organization.
• Good driving record in the Ouaddai Province, including Assoungha department and Adre area.
• Experience driving vehicles of different makes and models, including vans and other motorized vehicles.
• Desirable experience in defensive driving.
• Knowledge of driver rules and practices, local roads/waterways, and security issues.
• Knowledge of vehicle load capacity and other parameters.
• Knowledge of traffic and navigation codes.
• Knowledge of safety standards and equipment (fire extinguishers, floating safety accessories, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, usage and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Basic emergency assistance skills and knowledge of first aid.
• Knowledge of radio, email, telephone, and other communication applications and ability to use these means of communication.
• Ability to assess vehicle mechanical condition and perform minor repairs.
• Ability to listen to service beneficiaries and demonstrate responsibility, courtesy, and tact.
• Fluency (level C) in French and Sudanese Arabic.
