See your match score & applyThe consultant will provide specialized project management and coordination services to support the planning, implementation and successful completion of the UNICEF Tokyo office relocation project. This includes developing and maintaining the project management framework, coordinating stakeholders, monitoring risks, and ensuring operational readiness for a smooth office transition.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized project management and coordination services to support the planning, implementation and successful completion of the UNICEF Tokyo office relocation project.
- Develop and maintain the project management framework required to support the relocation, including project planning, implementation scheduling, stakeholder coordination, risk monitoring, documentation, operational readiness planning and project closure.
- Coordinate with relevant UNICEF colleagues, vendors, service providers, building management and other external stakeholders to facilitate implementation of relocation activities.
- Monitor project progress and maintain project documentation.
- Produce the agreed deliverables and final handover package upon completion of the relocation project.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s or higher) in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations Management, Facilities Management, Public Administration, Communications, International Relations or other relevant disciplines is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, operations management, office administration, workplace transition, facilities management, office relocation, or a related field.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously and deliver results within tight timelines.
- Experience in project planning, risk tracking, issue management and progress monitoring.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project tracking tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining close coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Japanese (written & verbal) is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN Languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
- Previous experience supporting office relocation, facilities transition, workplace redesign or organizational change projects is desirable.
- Familiarity with facilities management, asset management inventory processes and vendor coordination is desirable.
- Previous experience with UNICEF, the United Nations system or other international organizations is desirable.
- Knowledge of business continuity, operational readiness and workplace health and safety considerations is desirable.
