National Intern: Social Policy Analysis

The internship supports UNICEF Cambodia's Policy and Public Finance for Children Section by assisting in social policy analysis to contribute to national efforts ensuring children's rights and welfare. The intern will work closely with national ministries and sub-national administrations to support programme components related to child survival, care, protection, and participation.

Responsibilities

• Support social policy analysis and contribute to UNICEF Cambodia’s country programme components related to health, nutrition, WASH, education, child protection, and policy and public financing for children.
• Collaborate with national ministries including Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Social Affairs, Veteran, and Youth Rehabilitation, National Institute of Statistics, and sub-national administrations.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support programme implementation and advocacy efforts.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials as required.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT), management, Accounting/Finance, social science or other similar subjects.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel as the basic requirement - Great if with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Power BI - but not totally necessary.
• Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to​​​​​​.
• Proficiency in English both spoken and written.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Well organized and structured approach with attention to details and deadlines.
• Strong commitment and passion for UNICEF’s mission.
• Knowledge of Khmer language.
• Sensitive to child rights and child safeguarding principles.
• Sensitive to a multi-culture environment.
• Availability for desired period from 4 to 6 months, Mon - Fri (full time- 5 days per week).
