National Consultant WASH Infrastructure Construction Engineers

UNICEF Indonesia seeks qualified WASH Infrastructure Construction Engineers to provide specialized technical support for planning, design, implementation, supervision, quality assurance, and contract management of WASH infrastructure projects. The consultants will support the Government of Indonesia in improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services with a focus on climate resilience and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for infrastructure needs assessments and feasibility studies.
• Conduct engineering surveys and site assessments.
• Develop and review engineering designs, drawings, specifications and BoQs.
• Prepare and review bidding and procurement documents.
• Evaluate bids and proposals technically.
• Supervise construction and ensure quality assurance.
• Monitor contractor performance and manage contracts.
• Conduct technical inspections and certify completed works.
• Develop operation and maintenance plans.
• Build capacity of government counterparts and implementing partners in construction management.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Masters) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree combined with extensive relevant professional experience may be considered.
• Professional engineer’s license.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in planning, design, construction, supervision, and management of WASH infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience with UNICEF, UN agencies, development banks or international development organizations is desirable.
