National Consultant -EMIS Data Analyst

The consultant will provide technical support to enhance data analytics, reporting, and knowledge-generation functions within the Education Management Information System (EMIS) to improve education outcomes in South Africa. The role involves working with large datasets, data dissemination, and supporting evidence-based decision-making across the basic education sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to enhance data analytics, reporting, and knowledge-generation functions within EMIS.
• Support the implementation and management of the Learner Unit Record Information and Tracking System (LURITS).
• Assist in the collection, management, analysis, and dissemination of high-quality education data and information.
• Support planning, policy development, monitoring, evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making across the basic education sector.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Social Sciences, or any other related field.
• At least 8 years relevant experience in data or statistical analysis role, Social Science research.
• Ability to work with large datasets and data dissemination of education-related data.
• Good writing skills and an understanding of the education system and legislative framework will be an added advantage.
• Skills in computer applications such as databases and spreadsheets, SQL programming, skills in statistical packages such as STATA, Python etc.
• Experience in handling sensitive data and/ POPIA compliance processes and practices.
• English language required.
• Desirable: One other South African Language.
