UNICEF Nicaragua seeks to establish a roster of pre-selected consultants specialized in education and related areas to provide technical assistance in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of education actions in Nicaragua. The roster will enable agile responses to programmatic needs in development and humanitarian contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of education actions in Nicaragua.
  • Respond agilely to programmatic needs in education in development and humanitarian contexts.
  • Support UNICEF's education program goals including access, retention, and quality learning for children and adolescents with emphasis on equity, inclusion, gender, educational innovation, climate resilience, and vulnerable populations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Ministry of Education and strategic partners to strengthen policies, programs, and educational services.
  • Contribute to improving learning quality, promoting inclusive and intercultural education, advancing digital transformation in education, strengthening initial and continuous teacher training, and developing mechanisms to ensure educational continuity in humanitarian contexts.
  • Participate in evaluation processes including document review, interviews, reference checks, and product review as part of the roster selection process.

Requirements

  • University degree in Education, Pedagogy, Psychology, Social Sciences, Educational Technology, Special Education, Child Development, Sociology, Environment, Risk Management or related fields.
  • Postgraduate degrees related to the indicated themes are desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in one or more thematic areas of the roster.
  • Experience in educational programs, teacher training, curriculum design, research, and technical assistance in the Nicaraguan education system.
  • Technical competencies in educational program design, monitoring and evaluation, material development, digital platform management, data analysis, and technical writing.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Proficiency in Spanish with good expression, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive Windows, and ethical use of AI.
  • Previous experience working with UNICEF or the UN is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of English and/or any local languages is an advantage.
