See your match score & applyThis consultancy provides specialized disability-inclusion technical expertise to support UNESCO and national partners in Fiji. The consultant will plan, facilitate, and report on multi-stakeholder consultations, design and validate a study framework, execute research, and support the launch of the 'From Policy to Action Study' framework to advance inclusive education for learners with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Plan, facilitate, and report the findings of the Disability Inclusion Veivosaki consultation including preparation of facilitation plans, technical materials, and documentation tools.
- Document stakeholder inputs, synthesize key issues, gaps, priorities, and recommendations to guide study framework design.
- Design the 'From Policy to Action Study' framework including objectives, methodology, sampling, data collection tools, ethical considerations, timeline, and outputs.
- Present and validate the study framework with UNESCO and national stakeholders, incorporating feedback.
- Execute the validated study framework by conducting research, data collection, analysis, and developing study content.
- Prepare draft study report, present findings for final validation, revise based on feedback, and support the launch of the final study.
- Report to UNESCO Pacific Regional Office and coordinate with Ministry of Education, National Council for Persons with Disabilities, and OPDs.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Education, Disability Studies, Social Policy, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in inclusive education, disability rights, or education systems strengthening.
- Proven expertise in facilitating multi-stakeholder consultations and participatory research.
- Strong knowledge of CRPD, SDGs, and inclusive education frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
- Experience working in Pacific contexts is highly desirable.
