Strategy Development Specialist

The consultant will support the development of the CTCN fourth Programme of Work and contribute to the development of the Joint Work Programme of the Technology Mechanism. The role involves consultations, drafting strategic documents, and developing outreach and resource mobilization strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of CTCN fourth Programme of Work including review of relevant documents, facilitating consultations, identifying stakeholders, proposing methodologies, conducting consultations, reviewing integration with Technology Framework, preparing draft PoW, presenting drafts at Advisory Board meetings, and finalizing the PoW.
• Contribute to Joint Work Programme of Technology Mechanism for 2028-2032 by identifying synergies, taking into account joint work programmes, attending consultation meetings, and providing inputs to the Joint Work Programme document.
• Develop strategies for dissemination and promotion of the new Programme of Work and outreach to relevant stakeholders for resource mobilization.
• Provide strategic advice and oversight into CTCN communications, outreach, and knowledge management activities.
• Represent CTCN in engagement with potential partners in support of future implementation of fourth PoW.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the Director of the CTCN.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international development, environment, economy, and/or related field.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the fields of climate change and environmental issues, which includes experience on climate technology issues.
• Familiarity with UNFCCC process is required.
• Proven experience and success in developing organisational level strategy documents that links the strategic visions of the organisation and present solutions.
• Experience in working for a UN or multilateral organization particularly in supporting a constituted body or a mechanism is desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of the work of Technology Mechanism activities is an asset.
• Ability to synthesize information in a clear and well-structured manner, as well as ability to plan, prioritize and deliver tasks effectively and on time.
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and respect for a multi-cultural workplace.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
