See your match score & applyThe Assistant Technique Clerk Climatisation is responsible for the proper functioning, routine maintenance, and continuous monitoring of air conditioning, ventilation, and air treatment systems at the United Nations Common House in Bamako. This role ensures a productive work environment and protects inter-agency communication servers and equipment through effective HVAC system management.
Responsibilities
- Perform first-level preventive maintenance of air conditioning systems including cleaning and replacing air filters of indoor units to ensure air quality and energy efficiency.
- Clean outdoor unit batteries (condensers) to prevent overheating and reduce energy overconsumption.
- Check and clean condensate drainage ducts to prevent water leaks in offices and technical rooms.
- Inspect thermal insulation on refrigerant piping and carry out repairs as necessary.
- Conduct daily inspections to monitor the proper functioning of all air conditioning equipment, with special attention to server rooms and telecommunication areas.
- Monitor and regularly record temperature and humidity levels in sensitive areas to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Diagnose simple faults such as minor electrical issues, blockages, stuck fans, or gas shortages and perform first-level repairs.
- Immediately report major malfunctions or refrigerant leaks to the supervisor and propose corrective measures.
- Supervise external service providers during major maintenance, gas recharging, or installation of new air conditioning equipment.
- Verify that work performed by contractors complies with technical specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements, and inform the supervisor.
- Maintain technical maintenance logs for each device including fault history, refrigerant recharges, and part replacements.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and anticipate purchase requests.
- Strictly apply safety standards including electrical risk protection and safe handling of refrigerants using appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness of work and storage areas for tools and equipment.
- Contribute actively to knowledge sharing networks and communities of practice.
- Perform other tasks necessary for the effective functioning of the office and organization.
Requirements
- Knowledge of United Nations ethics policies and understanding of UN Staff Regulations and related policies on ethics and integrity.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to client needs, providing coherent solutions and timely quality results.
- Contribute to the development of customer service strategy and seek ways to add value beyond immediate client requests.
