The HR Consultant will provide surge and capacity building support on HR operations for the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and field offices. The role involves advising senior management, facilitating recruitment and HR processes, and building capacity of HR staff across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Advise senior management and ROAP HR colleagues on overall HR management.
  • Provide surge support to requesting offices (ROAP and field offices), and lead various HR processes including facilitating local and international recruitment, recruitment and management of consultants, administration of benefits and entitlements, onboarding, contract maintenance and offboarding.
  • Coordinate with Operations/Budget on position management to ensure alignment of funding and contracts.
  • Review and advise on HR planning including corporate B/AWP planning and project planning (e.g. R-PAC).
  • Provide capacity building to HR staff within the Asia Pacific Region.
  • Perform other functions as assigned and agreed with the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in human resources management/organizational development, business administration, public administration, change management or related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resource management.
  • Experiences in recruitment and selection, benefits administration are required.
  • Experiences in HR business partnering are required.
  • Experiences in working within the UN system is required.
  • Regional and country level experience in Asia and the Pacific is required.
  • Fluency in English and Thai is required.
  • Knowledge of any other UN official language is an asset.
