This internship position is located in the Office of the Director in the UN Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH), Office of Support Operations (OSO), Department of Operational Support (DOS). The intern will assist in health-related projects, develop data visualization reports, conduct research, and support various administrative and communication tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of health-related projects for the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH).
  • Develop Power BI reports and other data visualization reports of health-related data.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of the latest health policy developments relevant for DHMOSH.
  • Assist in preparing official documents ensuring grammar, content and formatting are accurate.
  • Conduct research including document, medical and psychosocial policies, and internet searches.
  • Assist with reporting, drafting, and editing of content for print, web and multimedia.
  • Assist in organizing special events and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent or higher) or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor's level or equivalent) or have graduated with a university degree (secondary or first level).
  • Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
  • Risk/Crisis management and/or Emergency Care background is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • An orientation in statistical data analytics is desirable.
  • Public Health or Data Management background is desirable.
  • No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
  • Interns who are not United States citizens, permanent residents or on another non-immigrant status will be required to obtain a G4 visa.
  • Interns are responsible for ensuring they have a valid visa and employment authorization if required.
