Project Officer (Nutrition/OTP)

The Project Officer (Nutrition/OTP) is responsible for the successful management and implementation of the Nutrition Project, particularly the OTP sector, in the project area. This includes providing technical support, monitoring, team management, reporting, and ensuring coordination with stakeholders and partners.

Responsibilities

• Supervise IMAM Project (mainly OTP/TSFP) to ensure quality treatment and case management as efficiently, effectively and professional manner.
• Liaise with Health actors to ensure comprehensive services and referrals (management of health complications).
• Liaise with IYCF teams to ensure Health education and referral links between Project.
• Compile and analyse OTP /TSFP field statistics and complete all relevant monitoring tools.
• Assist in writing draft donor and other reports as required.
• Conduct capacity strengthening trainings for OTP staff, volunteer and partner as required.
• Conduct monthly nutrition team meetings, Assisting in Budget, work plan, planning etc.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
• Ensure necessary staff and equipment is available for OTP team and centres.
• Assist in coverage and anthropometric surveys and rapid assessments as required.
• Communicate with all other sectors to ensure comprehensive Project.
• Take steps to ensure that the Project benefits the poorest and most disadvantaged children.
• Ensure that all beneficiaries of your Project are receiving ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
• Compile project reports as required (monthly, quarterly, semiannual, annual reports).
• Ensure that project resources for the Nutrition component are used optimally and that expenditure complies with internal controls set by the Finance/Grants Units.
• Make sure that any issue, information or change on context, project or resources and which requires informing the donor is informed in written to the Project Coordinator.
• Ensure that project related information is relayed to the Project Coordinator, and other Project Officer.
• Assist Project Managers in maintaining Project documents and coordinating with all departments.
• Ensure good communication and coordination between the team members working in the different contexts of intervention of the project.
• Liaise with other implementing partners and different authorities to maximize collaboration and ensure proper coordination of activities.
• Represent health and nutrition management and coordination meetings at Regional/ Township level.
• With the technical support of Nutrition Advisors and Health Advisors, provide technical guidance and capacity building support and supervision to the operations team, and local partner staff to ensure successful implementation of nutrition/health Project and provide opportunities for staff development.
• Conduct trainings to build the capacity of staff and local partners as required with special focus on Project Officers from SCI nutrition team.
• Ensure the effective use of Develop to perform including the establishment of clear, measurable objectives, ongoing feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations.
• Support project staffs through coaching and other developmental activities. Ensure all team members have the opportunity to build greater capacities in line with their expectations.
• Manage diverse team members and contexts (camp and villages).
• Take all necessary and appropriate steps to prevent abuse, exploitation, neglect, harm and modern slavery within their areas of responsibility, and in the way they conduct themselves, report and respond to all incidents and concerns whether online or in person, and comply with the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure.
• Take all necessary and appropriate steps to prevent fraud, bribery, and corruption within their areas of responsibility, report and respond to all incidents and concerns and comply with the Counter-Fraud, Bribery and Corruption Policy and Procedure.

Requirements

• Any Health-related degree or diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree, and preferably university degree in health, public health and nutrition or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge in antenatal care, IYCF, IMAM project.
• At least four years management experience of development and/or emergency Project in nutrition and health.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Good knowledge of project management cycle.
• Good people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment which encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas.
• Ability to work well in a team and train other staffs and demonstrate experience efficiently managing a team.
• Very good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in conducting needs assessments, project design, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge of community development; working with children and on children’s issues.
• Ability and willingness to travel remote area as assigned.
• Experience with multi-sectorial Project, or experience managing Projects in several different sectors.
• Experience working with community groups in humanitarian, post-conflict and recovery development context.
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
• Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy.
• Prior experience with Save The Children.
• Experience working with children and on children’s issues.
• Preferable implementation experience in Rakhine context
