Project Coordinator - SRH Alliance (Sekota)

The SRH Alliance Project Coordinator provides overall regional and woreda level coordination for planning, implementation, and monitoring of the SRH Alliance program in Ethiopia, ensuring achievement of objectives and quality standards. The role involves alliance coordination, partnership management, operational support, and promoting gender equality, disability inclusion, and climate-sensitive approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the implementation of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) project activities at regional and woreda levels, ensuring quality delivery, donor compliance, and achievement of project targets.
• Support planning, budgeting, reporting, partnership management, and stakeholder engagement with government institutions, CSOs, and other key partners.
• Provide technical guidance, capacity building, supervision, and support to project staff and implementing partners.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, learning, documentation, and evidence generation to promote quality programming and informed decision-making.
• Strengthen collaboration with regional authorities, service providers, academic institutions, and community stakeholders to improve SRH outcomes.
• Ensure the integration of gender equality, youth participation, disability inclusion, safeguarding, and other cross-cutting themes across project activities.
• Represent the project in regional coordination forums, technical working groups, and partnership platforms.
• Support community engagement initiatives, policy influence efforts, and innovative approaches that improve access to quality SRH information and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Reproductive Health, Sociology, Development studies, or related social science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in regional project management, especially alliance or consortium programs, with strong sectoral expertise on SRH with good understanding of regional and local contexts.
• Good team player with agility and problem-solving capability.
• Experience of working on complex projects that involves diversified local implementing partners.
• Knowhow of SRH and GBV strategies/policy frameworks, teenage pregnancy roadmap, child marriage, FGM.
• Experience in planning, budget management, delivering trainings.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing is essential.
• Knowledge of Regional Languages is essential.
• Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
• Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies.
• Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
• Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
