See your match score & applyThe Grants Coordinator supports the Grants Manager in effective grants management including donor compliance, proposal development, reporting, and coordination of key activities under NRC's Project Cycle Management. The role ensures programme teams are informed of donor regulations and NRC procedures, manages donor reporting, and supports project managers in proposal and report development.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures
- Develop and maintain an overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and deadlines, including filing of grant documents
- Support and coordinate the development of concept notes, proposals, and reports with programme and support teams
- Support budget-holders to ensure donor compliance and quality control across projects
- Provide internal helpdesk on donor related issues and organize trainings on donor rules, proposal and report writing
- Facilitate key PCM activities including meetings and integration of cross-cutting programme elements
- Contribute to PCM trainings and capacity building of other departments
- Support external donor audits
- Promote Safeguarding and Anti-Corruption standards
- Support grant agreement review and contract negotiations
- Organize and facilitate Grant Opening Meetings and coordinate mandatory internal documents
- Coordinate development of proposal revisions and donor reports ensuring quality and compliance
- Keep track of project review meetings and organize quarterly and ad hoc meetings
- Support coordination of donor monitoring exercises
- Ensure familiarity with NRC and donor compliance requirements and manage grants accordingly
- Advise programme colleagues on donor compliance and ensure availability of donor templates
- Flag risks for non-compliance to Grants Manager
- Support finance and compliance teams for audit documentation
- Deliver training and capacity building on grants management and PCM
- Maintain high standard of information management and filing systems
- Represent Grants function in meetings and coordinate follow-up on action points
- Coordinate with Grants Unit staff to maintain grants/funding tracker
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ of relevant experience in a related field
- Experience of donor relations and grants management (e.g. with institutional humanitarian and development donors)
- Experience working in complex environments and with displaced populations
- Good understanding of donor rules and regulations
- Proven skills and experience in report and proposal development and working with multiple donors
- Good personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Staff capacity-building experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and team working skills
- Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector
- Above average computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Windows Word and Excel
- Holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, holds the team accountable to deliver on their responsibilities
