See your match score & applyThe Finance Officer ensures the follow-up of financial operations, compliance with NRC procedures, and guarantees the conformity of transactions. The role contributes to the reliability of accounting data and transparency of financial management in the DR Congo Bunia office.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, manuals and directives.
- Implement delegated support functions in accordance with the action plan.
- Write reports on the progress of support activities upon request from supervisor or management.
- Ensure proper archiving of documents.
- Encourage and propose improvements to support functions.
- Work in compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals and directives.
- Prepare expense reports.
- Contribute to bank and cash account reconciliations.
- Contribute to verification of accounting documents.
- Verify amounts and annexes of all vouchers.
- Control cash funds at the end of the day, expenses made, compliance with procedures in voucher establishment and their annexes (daily report, suspense, etc.).
- Make payments of social and state taxes (INSS, INPP, IPR, IRL, ONEM).
- Ensure payment proofs for state services are in order and work with their auditors.
- Classify base files and label folders (archiving).
- Assist bases for all requests concerning accounting and vouchers.
- Prepare work requested by auditors.
- Contribute to BRS account reconciliation.
Requirements
- Be holder of a university degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management or any other related field. However, candidates with a lower academic level but with at least four (4) years of relevant professional experience in similar functions will also be considered.
- Practical experience in support functions in a humanitarian context is a significant asset.
- Previous professional experience in complex and unstable contexts.
- Proven results on the responsibilities of the position.
- Good knowledge of computer tools (Excel/Word), Internet and other software.
- Good mastery of current labor legislation.
- Fluency in French and Swahili both oral and written.
- English is an asset.
- Be of Congolese nationality.
- In-depth knowledge of the social, cultural, economic, and legal context of Ituri.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of local languages is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Congolese financial system.
