See your match score & applyThe Finance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating financial and accounting activities in Bamako. The role is key in strengthening the mission's financial management, ensuring quality financial closures, reporting, budget monitoring, compliance, internal control, audit management, and capacity building of financial teams.
Responsibilities
- Hierarchical responsibility for direct report collaborators.
- Facilitate implementation of NRC systems and procedures and ensure adherence to SOPs, NRC policies, manuals, directives and donor requirements.
- Ensure preparation, monitoring and regular updating of the Master Budget.
- Ensure preparation, updating and submission of project budgets.
- Ensure preparation of donor financial reports for projects.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of the BRS.
- Coordinate electronic archiving of accounting documents.
- Provide technical support to programs and finance team.
- Implement internal control system (accounting system, accounting organization, procedures, SOPs and formats) in compliance with donor procedures and NRC financial manual.
- Strengthen capacities of Finance Officers and Assistants in Bamako.
- Manage NRC Mali bank accounts.
- Support program and support teams in budget preparation and donor financial reporting.
- Coordinate annual preparation of Master Budget according to headquarters and country office directives.
- Regularly update Master Budget and analyze its coverage.
- Coordinate and consolidate mission expenditure plans.
- Prepare and submit donor financial reports within deadlines.
- Coordinate review, allocation and monthly payment of national staff payroll within deadlines.
- Ensure quality of monthly closures.
- Coordinate and consolidate monthly BRS preparation within deadlines.
- Strengthen management of implementing partners.
- Coordinate electronic and physical archiving of accounting documents.
- Support preparation of documents and audit processes for projects and mission.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- At least one (01) year of professional experience as a coordinator in accounting and financial functions in a humanitarian context.
- Bachelor's degree (Bac + 4) in accounting and business management.
- Professional experience in budget management and grant reporting (Subventions) NORAD, ECHO, SIDA, EU, SDC, FHRAOC, U.S. Department of State.
- Proficiency in the accounting software Agresso (Unit 4).
- Proficiency in budgeting tools (Donor budget).
- Previous professional experience in complex and unstable contexts.
- Proven results in the responsibilities of the position.
- Knowledge of own leadership style/profile.
- Good knowledge of English is an asset.
- Good knowledge of IT tools (Excel, Word), Internet and other software.
- Knowledge of Agresso.
- Knowledge of donor procedures NORAD, ECHO, SIDA, EU, SDC, FHRAOC, U.S. Department of State etc.
- Experience in team management.
