The Analyst contributes to all phases of the project cycle including project origination, structuring, execution, implementation and monitoring. The role involves comprehensive due diligence, financial analysis, monitoring donor-funded technical cooperation and investment grants, and supporting project teams under guidance of senior bankers.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a project team member to structuring and execution of transactions involving donor funding including research, analysis of market and financial data, risk evaluation, financial modelling and projections.
  • Assist in designing and processing technical cooperation assistance including preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation.
  • Assist with communication with internal units, clients and stakeholders including preparing correspondence and presentations.
  • Complete assigned tasks within specified timeframes and in line with Bank policies and objectives.
  • Undertake tasks related to implementation and monitoring of projects and technical cooperation assignments including compliance with agreements, disbursement monitoring, financial performance monitoring, and grant usage.
  • Prepare draft monitoring reports including donor reporting and operational recommendations.
  • Assist with effective implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments including communication with clients and preparation of progress and completion reports.
  • Support donor visibility, communication activities, local outreach, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, evaluation and audits as required.
  • Progressively undertake more complex tasks and build responsibilities based on experience and expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant areas.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA is desirable.
  • Strong quantitative and numerical skills with ability to interpret financial information and design financial models.
  • Credit analysis skills including interpretation of accounts and understanding of local and international accounting principles.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages including financial analysis and modelling modules.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-national team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines with high accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; good command of local language is an advantage.
  • Relevant financial industry experience from investment or commercial bank, public institutions, development bank, corporation exposed to EBRD operations, or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards.
  • Understanding and experience working with international donor institutions is desirable.
  • Experience related to infrastructure, environmental and energy technical cooperation and investment project implementation.
  • Exposure to industry/country experience and understanding of strategic objectives of international and bilateral funding agencies active in the region.
